Lee - Gym Owner
I competed as an all around gymnast for Benson High School in Portland, Oregon from 1979-82. As a coach, I’ve been in charge of both boys and girls club teams from preschool to competitive for the past 30+ years in Oregon and California. In that time I have had many State, Regional and National qualifying gymnasts. I served as the former State Chair for boy’s gymnastics in Oregon, and currently serve as the Vice Chair for NorCal boy’s gymnastics here in California. I love gymnastics- both doing & coaching- because it's a challenge that I find extremely fulfilling. I’ve never done anything else and I wouldn’t know what to do if I couldn’t do this!

Chris - Girls Program Director
I manage the girls program here at LUGA including both the recreational and competitive program. I currently coach our girls competitive team and just wrapped up a successful season. You can also find me coaching our Teen-Tastic Class and a few recreational levels.
As a youth, I participated in parkour which encompasses many elements of gymnastics. This training teaches a person to overcome obstacles both physical and mental. I’ve been coaching gymnasts now for 25 years all the way through level 10. I love gymnastics because its such a “total body” sport. Gymnastics is a way to teach life lessons through athletics. The people you work with, both staff and clients, are a great perk to the job too.
Fun Fact About Coach Chris: I used to teach gymnastics in a cow field while living in Kathmandu, Nepal. We would have to chase the cows away from the grassy area we were trying to use.
Amanda - Gym Manager
My name is Mandy and I am the gym manager here at LUGA. I oversee everything from classes to current events and staff. You can also find me coaching most days.
I grew up as a competitive gymnast for LUGA back when it was just UGA. I began coaching the second I was old enough to get a workers permit and haven’t stopped since. I love the sport of gymnastics because it taught me the power of improvement, overcoming mental and physical blocks, and how to appreciate small details.
Fun Fact About Amanda: I love pickles, unicorns, and handstands!
Andrea - Customer Service Manager
As a child I participated in many sports, gymnastics included. Throughout school, I played volleyball and softball. I passed my love of sports on to my talented daughters who trained and competed in gymnastics here at Lee's. I have been here at the gym managing the front office for 7 years. The sport of gymnastics has always fascinated me and I am thankful it's such a big part of my life.

My disciplines include men and women's competitive gymnastics, preschool, rec, parkour and an extensive ballet background. I was a competitive gymnast myself and spent 10 years with the state ballet and 6 with a modern dance company.
Here at Lee's United we have a very skilled staff. Becoming better is always my goal. For myself, this is one of the best gyms I have worked for because of the team work and value we put on members. I enjoy working with peers who I have also worked with previously before coming here.

I have been at Lee's United since I was 3 years old. First as a gymnast and now as a coach! I've been coaching now for about 5 years, everything from preschool to Competitive Team- even the front desk sometimes! The kids are what make it all worthwhile. From seeing their smiles and awesome skills, to seeing them outside the gym when they want to tell you all about their day.

Mackenzie - Preteam Coach
I competed 4 years of gymnastics. One of those years was as an optional training level 8. I mastered most of the skills before retiring. I have been working for LUGA for a year and half. I currently coach our Preteam girls that feeds to our competitive team as well as Flippers & Super Stars classes. I love gymnastics because it is beautiful, challenging, requires dedication, and is so artistic. Fun fact about Coach Yasmeen: I love to sing, and if they are really lucky I will sing to my gymnasts.
Kyle - Coach
Some of my earliest memories are being at a gymnastics academy. I studied it for several years, then had to take a hiatus until high school where I participated in tumbling classes. This is my first year of coaching and I have a variety of classes including preschool to boys rec. I enjoy gymnastics because I think it teaches those involved how to accept their mistakes. It is not an easy sport; it requires patience, strength, dedication, and one of the hardest skills to master- attention to detail. No matter what skill level in gymnastics you are, you make a lot of mistakes on your pursuit to perfection. Learning to accept those mistakes and learn from them is a crucial lesson, not only gymnastics but life as well.
Fun fact about Coach Kyle: In my spare time I like to produce music, take photos, and DJ.
I began competing in gymnastics at the age of eight and joined the LUGA boys team in 2012. I continue to compete for LUGA, and I'm currently a level 10 gymnast. In 2016, I was both the NCBGA Level 8 State All-Around Champion and Men's Region 1 All-Around Champion. I also earned a spot on the Northern California All-Star team. In addition to competing, I’m currently coaching for LUGA. I love gymnastics because it’s an amazing sport and it gives me the ability to do things that most people can't. It's a great feeling to be able to flip upside down or swing around a bar.
Fun fact about Coach Ian: One of my favorite movie series is the Lord of the Rings.
Melinda - Office staff
I was a gymnast from age 6 though high school. I competed with my high school team. My two daughters were both competitive gymnasts here at UGA. When I was younger I coached- now I've been working the front desk here at the gym for years. LUGA always feels like home to me and I have been here a long time. It is always nice to come home!
Fun fact about Melinda: I am a kindergarten teacher and 1st grade tutor. I love to crochet. I also have 4 children and 3 grandchildren.
Lena - Office staff
I was never a gymnast but am so amazed by the sport! I'm a fairy new employee here but my daughter has been a part of the LUGA family for the past two years. Through her, I have fallen in love with the sport.
My favorite aspect of gymnastics is getting to see all of our students grow in their abilities. I love when they stop by the front desk to tell me about the new skills that they're mastered or getting to congratulate them when they move up to a new class.
LUGA has become like a second home to not only us but so many other families in this area. It's not just a gymnastics academy. It's a place your child can always call home.
Fun Fact about Lena: I'm a self-proclaimed Super Crafter.
